spy light?

Im trying to spy on my tank at night but everytime I turn on my lil flashlight, the critters all run away. What would any of you guys recommend I use to creep up on my critters? Im trying to see if I spot any zoa eating spiders, I think I saw one but he ran super fast into a hole. How would I kill one if I saw it again?

Some moonlights should work perfectly for what you are trying to do

Either get a red LED light, or get a few layers of red cellophane to cover your flashlight.

I prefer a minimag light with a few layers of red cellophane.

You cna get the red cellophane at a floral shop or a car parts store....look for the tape that can be used over broken taillights.

The red light doesnt bother stuff nearly as much. some stuff it doesnt bother at all

Red isn't visible to aquatic critters so it won't scare them off.
