Star Polyps dying!! or at least not opening!

There is a brown substance over some of the polyps. You can see in one of the pics of stars doing good on the other side of tank.
There is some cyno in the tank on the bottom in which I am working on with crabs, snails, water flow..I have yet to treat with a chemical.
It does not LOOK like cyno on the polyps. Do you think I should treat for the cyno..and see if the polyps improve? I want to save my forest..Is there anything else you could think of that is brownish..and goes on polyps?
Any advice would be helpful. Just did a water change on my tank .

no..I did with the turkey baster. It blows off...then its there again..And they dont open.
 
tomorrow i will put the other powerhead near them..to see if that helps.
I presume..they wont mind the more flow. They havent had it right on them..so hope its ok.
