Star polyps not openning

For the past few days I've noticed that a section of my star polyps is not openning up. Then I noticed that there is the tube with an openning that closes and opens. What is that?

It looks like a crab claw to me.

Looks like a Vermtid Worm aka Sessile snail. Ever see it cast a mucus web?

they do that naturally snake. they will do that a few times a year at least. most times there will be some slime attached to them. Its how they purge themselves. could be a few days closed.

Then again they could just be dying . but its a pretty common occurance.
