steel frame needed for 125 gal tank?

hey all

Just a quick question on if I need to build a steel frame for my stand with a 125 or not. I have been thinking about it just due to the 1400 lbs weight of the thing.

Anyone have any thoughts?

nope i build all my stands with 2x4's even my new 250g is on 2x4's

3/4'' plywood will also hold your 120 no problem.

I was thinking of making the frame ouf ot 2x4s but I am wondering I can get away with just having one vertical support in the front of the stand or not so I can set up large doors in the bottom

is that an option

IF you use 2x6s for the top platform. You could use one brace in the center of the front opening for 2 doors. Will this leave you enough room to install your sump?

I am using a 35 gal tank for my sump which will not be a problem. I am building the stand to be 36" tall so the sump will fit I believe.
