Steve Irwin dies at 44.

Queensland, Austrailia. He was shooting a documentary on stingrays, when he was stabbed in the chest by a stingray. its a sad day. he tought us so much in so little time. prayers for his family and friends. he will be greatly missed.

REEF-ON....

It is so sad. I feel terribly for his family. He died doing what he loved....teaching others about wildlife.

Yeah...I saw that this morning on the news. When I saw that he had died, first thing I thought of was a croc did it. Very sad...

Have you seen the guys show? You had to have seen it comming a mile away! I'm not saying, "he diserved it", but if you play with fire your going to get burnt. At least he got several good things done in his life before he bit it.

It really is unfortunate, no matter how it happened. There are people with dangerous jobs all over, and what he has done in educating the public on wildlife should be commended. A tragedy indeed. The stingray could have gotten him in the leg or the arm, but it got him in the heart. You just never know how or when.

I loved to watch him....such enthusiasm! I wish I could be that upbeat all the time. I'll surely miss him. So sad for his family, I can't imagine!

The strange thing is it sounds like he wasn't even doing anything that crazy, like annoying a rhino, showing us a look at the back of a lion's throat while holding it's jaws open, or sticking his thumb in an alligator's behind to demonstrate how pissed off he gets.

Yeah, but you know....if he was doing something crazy, then I'm afraid some people would be all over him about how he "pushed" it. This just shows wild animals are unpredictable, no matter who you are. Such a tragedy. We broke the news to my youngster today. She really enjoyed watching his programs, and playing croc hunter at home with her stuffed animals.

i think he was just doing what he was trained to do, what he loved to do, i dont think he was tempting fate too much...i mean a sting ray barb through the ribs into the heart??how much of a freak accident is that?
poor guy, he was a massive conservationalist too......

and btw........i wonder what would happen if i skimmed all the proteins from my body......what would there be left????

Rip

Today Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray. It is quite obvious he wasnt wearing his sun block to protect him from the rays.:)
