Hey all,

Well, I've gone ahead and purchased a Typhoon III ro/di filter from Air, Water, Ice...Seemed like a good unit and had tons of good reviewers. Should be in at the end of the week and I'm trying to plan ahead so I can start creating some water this weekend.

Just curious what everyone stores their water in once processed? Can this water leach chemicals out of plastic over time, or can it be left indefinitely in a container if covered. Does anyone have any plumbing ideas to easily access the water, or is tubing and a water pump the easiest way? Also, is a powerhead needed to keep it moving if it isn't salt?

thanks,

Justin

You could store it in a food grade barrel (Be sure to clean thoroughly), I store mine in the higher end rubbermaid brute trash can, but shortly it will be in a barrel. Be intentional about cleaning it out. These barrel can be found at large scale food processing places, and oftentimes they will almost give them away. They sometimes house vinegar and other food related ingredients. It is fairly safe too stay they are food grade barrels, when they originally housed food.

Whatever you decide to store it in get a float valve. I broke mine and keep flooding the laundry room when I forget its running.
