What is the benefit of RO/DI opposed to straight RO water. We're thinking about getting the filter...but want to know the benefits of the more expensive unit...if any:?: :?: :?:

The DI will remove & purify the water down to about 99% in keeping reef tanks we just about all use the DI, It is well worth it & it removes nasties that can cause problems later in your tank. We have sponsors here that have decent prices, it Will pay off in the long run, also I usually recommend getting the 75gpd unit because of the amount of wast to product is good & you can never have enough RO/DI at hand!

To give you an example I have a RO for drinking water it has a nitrate level of at least 10. My RO/DI is 0.

I always thought the DI chamber was redundant b/c I get 0 TDS readings out of both my RO and RODI. -looks like I learned something new though. glad you asked. ;o)
