String algae

I was on vacation for a week and had my lights on timers and everything running. I got home and my whole fish tank is full of string algae. What does this mean and how do i get rid of it

siphon out as much as you can, keep up on your water changes. how big is you cuc?

What is a cuc

consists of snails, brittle stars, shrimp, etc. stands for clean up crew. they eat algae, detritus, left over food, etc.

Get a good skimmer too, it will pull suspended organics out of the water before the algae can consume them

ok i dont have tooo many snails just a couple of astrea snails and some blur leg hermits
