I know ive said i should clean it out and make the sump BB with cheto only...

but i wanna add more sand..

i have a box of sand that came with that 150 i got.. its about 100 lbs of really fine sand..

i think it was in a fish only tank... year years years years ago... like 10 years ago....

whats the best way to get about 3-5" of sand in the center of my sump section........

little at a time...

soak it in fresh mixed salt water so it will sink nice.... and add it all at the same time..

or little by little

Yea a little at a time will assure you dont smother out the aerobic zone,and you wont have to stir it in which would chance pushing oxygen to the anerobic zone

i dont think theres an anerobic zone theres only about a half an inch of CC on the bottem.
