T5 fixture: Aqua Medic vs Tek fixtures

I was wondering what your opinions are on Aqua Medic vs Tek fixtures. Is there a great difference in quality and light output?

If you head over to RC, there's a VERY LONG thread on T5HO Q&A, by Grimreefer, the KNOW ALL when it comes to T5HO lighting. Somewhere in that thread, he compared the two, expecting them to be close to equal. He was very surprised to find the the Tek5 really was quite a bit better than the AquaMedic. If I remember right, he figured it must be due to the different ballasts.

Tek

I love my Tek light! I have the 48" 6x54 watt version over my 90 gal.
The only thing i dont like is the no splash gaurd shield "although it is an option" it just seemed over priced for me at the time I wish I had bought it though, to reduse salt crep on the reflectors. Other than that no complaints.

im with justin. i have one and love it. i have the giesmen bulbs in it and all my sps is staying very bright and growing like crazy. along with my clam

yeah go with the tek light,they are wayyy better. also spend the extra $25-$40(depending on fixture size) for the acrylic lens....it will help.
