T5 lighting

can T5 lighting run my 55 gallon sps tank

Most certainly. I would run at least 4 bulbs. 2 blue and 2 white or 3 white and one blue. Ideally 6 bulbs 4 white 2 blue. For high light corals placement is key. 12" or so from the bulbs is required for nice color with clear water.

I run a 6 bulb T5HO fixture on my 75 gallon and have plenty of SPS. As Kevin said, keep your high light demanding species closer to the top. There are a few SPS you'll probably not be able to keep, but for the most part, you'll find a lot that you can keep happy. Whenever I'm in Kevin's, before buying, I ask him...lol. He is, afterall, the SPS Guru!!

i have seen tanks that r using t5 lighting their acros look great they have alot of colors. im runing 1 175 watt metal halide 20k 4 vho 48 inch bulbs but im not geting the colors i want
