Well finally one of my friends paid me and while getting salt today I decided to get a a ACTiNIC bulb.
I have a 4 bulb fixture. I thought i'd replace one at a time for now. ....

my fixture is 2 actnic i thought, one white and one purple. ( ended up being 2 true blues. )
I thought i'd be cleaver and get more color by replacing the purple bulb.

Well I got it home and swapped it out the purple for a new actnic 420 bulb.
Found out its basicly the same color as the purple bulb I took out.
So the two blue have must be a true blue ( different from the actinic ) sigh**

my question is... is it ok for me to run the two true blues, purple, and new actinic bulb I bought with no white?
what would be the problem with running no white? long term and short term.
I took out the white and replaced it white the actinic for now just to see what it was like :D
now my fixture is the 2 blues purple and the 420 actinic.

Thanks for the help

If you don't mind the color then there is no problem running without no white bulb. The true blues still have spikes in the red/yellow spectrum and your corals will be fine. Think of it as switching from 14 to 20K.

Trido, I love the blue color :D its a nice way to get color pop.
I think I have 2 true blues, purple and now a 420 actnic

as long as they'll be fine ill leave it that way for a while
