Something is taking bites out of my acro's at night. I often awake to small-one polup sized bites- on my acro's (taking the flesh off the skeleton).

The wounds heal quickly. What do u think is doing this?

I've heard bad things about those tiny snails with a mottled patern. Could it be these guys?

I reacently removed a black nudibracht, so its not him...... unless there is another....

It Happens a lot- so I want to find the problem. I don't wan't any infections starting from little wounds.

What all do you have in your tank??? also check the acro for crabs, if you see one in the affected acro discribe it.

My Tank has no suspects that I know of..

2 perculas in RBTA

6-line wrass

small scooter blenny

pair of cleaner shrimp (spawning)

coral banded shrimp

margarita snails and assorted hermits

several acro crabs- some are light w/ one black dot on each leg

some are purpleish body with white legs

I have a mottled starfish w/ blue tips and a purple velvety star

oh and a small red reef star

All in an SPS dominated mixed reef w/ LPS - well lighted-good circ.

The Starfish?

On the acro crabs are any of them hairy, as in what looks like algae or hair??

no these guys are smooth white-purple- or white w/ spotted legs

ive seen crusty / hairy / stony looking crabs in someone elses

tank- are they bad?

Matt they look just like acro crabs and are whit in color. but they have fuzzy legs, and a bit of a fuzzy butt. they will nip on polyps.
