I have a White face tang and I just last week put it a small Blue jaw trigger..
The trigger is smaller than the tang
The White face tang has been nipping (mouthing) the sides and tail of the trigger..
It look as if an attack but just with the mouth but there is no dammage at all and in reality up close they are very soft mouthings.
What is going on here..

Oh By the way,
I noticed the coloration of the two fish is almost identical with the gray and the yellow outline on the fins??

kinda not really just sees it in a hidy hole she likes and but's it away
But the strange thing is the trigger just kinda takes it and doesn't swim away or even nip back
There are no visible marks or damage on the trigger and he's not hiding at all.??
I'm stumped?

I'd just observe the two for a while & make sure no damage happens, then you should be ok. I would think the body difference is enough to not make the tang go crazy & chase it constantly. I'm sure in time it will be the other way around as tiggers are typically aggressive, even the kinder ones.

Hey Adam my Achilles and powder Blue tangs takes turn chasing each other. I don't know if they are playing tag or what:razz:. Does the trigger looks at all stressed out how's its colors?

colors are great and I think he finally started to eat today (after one week of not)
He doesn't run or hide He just takes it.
It's not super rough just kinda light the tang nips at the rocks for algae??
He has no harm done so
I guess the tang will get a surprise one day and get his butt handed to him...
