Is it possible to do this?

Planning on building an in-wall tank. Is it possible to have an acrylic side/bottom and a glass front? I like the glass front better, and the cost of acrylic is lower (read better) for the rest.

The only visible portions of the tank would be the front area.

Is this a feasible idea? Something else better? A glass tank (for the size I am thinking about) would be really expensive. (at least on my budget!)

Thoughts?

David,

I believe you will have a major problem getting acrylic and Glass to bond together... which is why you either see an Acrylic tank, or a Glass one. There "may" be a way to do what you are interested in... but for that hopefully some of the more knowledgeable people will speak up for you.

You would be better off going fiberglass on the tank with a glass front
