I dialed my skimmer too high and it overflowed. The room stinks! Worst is that some of the water got under the stand. How much of a health issue do you think that will be? The only way I see to dry the carpet under there is to tear down the tank and move it. Right now I have fans blowing over the rest of the carpet.

Right now I plan not to reinstall the skimmer. I'm going to do a deep sand bed, rubble, and cheato on one side, cheato on the other side, and rubble in the return area away from the pump. (3 compartment sump) Right now there are only two fish, soon to be moved to the big tank. Do you forsee any big problems with this? Long term, I plan to tear down the second 40g on the system and only run 1 40g long on the sump. It will be mostly for frags with maybe one or two fish.

peel corner of carpet up rent a carpet style blower and circulate the air thats about it!I will dry as the area around it does it will quik the water from area ect!

Happens to all of us at one time or another. Blowdry the area is the best thing to do. I do not see any health issues as long as you don't eat off the floor for awhile. :D

I say go buy natures miracle from a pet store. Sometimes called pet tastic. Any enzyme based cleaner for dog and cat pee. Pour that on it and then wait 5 min then soak up with towel. That will kill the smell in no time. It is natural and safe. Used it on many things.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was thought it might wick to the dry area, but wasn't sure. I have some dog cleaner I can give a try. Good idea.
