My floors are uneven. What's the best way to level the tank? Put shims under the stand? Put styrofoam under the tank? Both? Neither? Does it matter on a tank as small as mine? (7 gallons)

I would shim under the stand until the tank is level. I don't know if size of tank makes a difference or not. My thoughts are you don't want to have any extra pressure on places, tank or stand, so keeping it level is a good idea.

On a smaller tank I wouldn't be as critical as larger tanks. It would be better to shim the stand rather than try and shim the glass, you will leave uneven spots of pressure trying that.

you really want to shim under the stand. trying to shim between the tank and stand is asking for trouble as you'd likely create pressure points on the tank; although on a tank that small it may not matter so much. glass isn't all that forgiving. my floor is uneven as well, ninety year old house; i didn't notice it untill after the fact, so there's about 1/2" to 3/4" change in the waterline across the top. it does't show though, so no big deal.
