Tap water to store bought RO water advice..please

So today is the day I start the conversion from tap water to RO (Glacier-Safeway brand) and I'm worried about the difference in chemistry in the water. I have the water in 5 gallon buckets with a circulating pump, a heater, and have already mixed in the Instant Ocean salt.

1) Do I need to add anything else to the RO water besides the salt?

2) If I am pre-mixing with the IO and letting it sit 24hrs with heater and pump should the pH be stable enough not to worry?

3) How much water can I change out at a time for a safe transition?

4) One reef tank is established and the other is very new, what should I look out for when changing to the RO water?

1) Dont add anything except for what is needed irregardless of the water. What I mean is no conditioners and things like that. On the other hand IO is usually low in CA and MG so balance those with the calculator.

2) 24 hrs is fine.

3)How much? As much as you want as long as you match the temp and sg.

4) What to look out for? Nothing will change except hopefully better water quality.

I agree with Don 100%. Good luck with the new water. I'm sure your tank will love it an nuicance algae will hate it.

Sounds good, thank you both. I have a maroon clown fish that has lived in tap water her whole life (10 yrs old) do you think the new RO water quality will affect her? Thanks!
