New to reef frontiers and new to the hobby!

Been wanting to start a reef tank for years now but not until recently have I been able to.
First tank is a 40 Breeder that is cycling as I write this! So much excitement!

Any way, this is my hello post, glad to be here and looking forward to the journey.

The only fish that I have set are two ocellaris clownfish. The rest of the stock list is yet to be determined. As far as everything else is concerned. I'd like to have a clean up crew of snails and crabs (more cuz I like the "small ecosystem" feel and all the little life running around). Also, for coral I'll go mainly soft and LPS with some SPS once I'm a little more seasoned. I want the tank to look like a piece of nature more then a box of animals I like :)

So any direction, advice or info on what to get would be awesome

Welcome!

A 40b is a great tank to start out. Are you running a sump? Plans for lighting, etc?

I am running a sump that I built from old aquarium glass. Wanted as big a sump as I could get but the standard 29 gallon didn't fit. So I tore it apart and cut the glass to make a good sized sump that could fit :) I plan on running macro in the rather large middle chamber.
As far as lighting goes I haven't purchased anything yet. Thought about going with an SB reef light.

Sorry for the delayed response. Here's a full tank shot of what I got right now. It's a work in progress and I love the struggle of progress :)

Welcome to RF!! :D. Don't get too addicted. No medication for saltwater addiction :p

Thanks so much,
But I heard that once you're caught you're hooked :biggrin1:
Or was it that the only medication was more and more of this awesome hobby :amen:
