:mad: but I have been using (very carefully cause I saw the pictures of peoples hands after mantis encounters) a plastic fork to stir my chaeto and it seems to be comming back. But that darn little bugger is still in there, it is just the same color as the algae!:evil:

You probably have a N. wennerae. They often change color when they molt to match certain conditions.

Color: Variable, often solid green but brown, brick red or cream, sometimes mottled; like many gonodactyloids, this species changes color depending on habitat color and depth. Animals from below 10 m are often red; shallow animals green or cream. In the aquarium under bright, broad spectrum light, red animals usually turn green after one or two molts; meral spot white.

Maybe when you turn your cheato use tongs and swish through a bucket of tank water. See if the little bugger shakes loose. I'm rooting for you to win control of your refugium. Best Luck:)
