Thrive Aquatics Water Lab

We are looking for some opinions from customers about a PROFESSIONAL Water Analysis Lab wee are considering getting.

Thrive Aquatics released a Water Analysis Lab that we have the opportunity to receive. We are debating whether the cost for the unit can be justified. Here is a short description of the Water Lab and a link to the Thrive Aquatics Website

The Thrive WaterLab is the first self-contained water testing machine designed for aquarium retail stores. The WaterLab identifies consumer aquarium issues, analyzes water samples and gives customers a step-by-step printout that highlights solutions to fix their water parameters.

The WaterLab performs 23 overall tests for Freshwater, Saltwater, and Pond water. Customers will be able to track results from previous visits as well as keep track of livestock and equipment maintenance from the machine.

These are some of the tests that the Water Lab can perform
PH
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
Color of Water
Phosphate
Copper
Salinity
Potassium
Carbonate Hardness (Alk)
General Hardness
Magnesium
Calcium
Iodine

The charges for the test will range from $1-$3 per test for each element.

We are working out a way to give back the cost of a test if customers purchase something at the time of the test so the test can be FREE with a purchase.

My question is how many of you would be interested in having access to this innovative state of the art machine? If you could help by answering this question.

How often would you consider using this Water Lab?

• 1 time just to see what it can offer and how it works
• 1 time per month at least
• 1 time every 4-6 months
• 1 time per year
• only when I have aquarium issues
• Never I am fine with testing water myself

Man that video was painful to watch. I almost tore my hair out.

I would try it out. If it's proven to be accurate, it's a great "second opinion" if I were to get some unexpected test results. Not to mention sometimes I'm lazy, so I would be inclined to swing by and check a sample on my way to dinner or the mall or something.

I guess my only question is this. Would the results give an actual test result? Or something like "your calcium is low, add 10ml of thrive calcium".

from what i've read on it it gives actual numbers and recommendations
i did the survey on the website, but i basically said i'd think i might do these tests every month or two to validate my home tests... if they end up being dramitically better then the home tests, then maybe more.

The Water Lab DOES give you exact results in a "Prescription" Form. That is the other cool thing about it, Thrive aquatics has an interactive form called Thrive Analytics. On that site you would enter your prescription # and it will tally, chart, track your results from your aquarium. The cool thing is that you can also manually add results and don't have to do the Water Lab for the results all the time. It is really pretty cool if it is utilized. Check out the analytics site
