so im getting ready to buy my led kit, probly from rapidled, and im trying to decide if i can get to much light? im guna be putting it on my around a gallon nano and was planning on running 3-4 3 watt leds. im debating on buying a 12 led system that way when i set up my 40 breeder i can just buy another 12 or maybe a 24 or sumthing like that for the 40. basically will 12 leds be to much for my lil nano cuz its going to be 3-4 months befor the 40 gets setup.was also thinking about a par38 from rapid. what do yall think?

As long as you get a unit that is dimmable you should be fine, that way you just turn the dimmer down to reduce the amount of light getting into the tank.

forsure. was thinking bout going not dimmable and not using all the leds on the nano. would be a nice feature tho jus a lil more money

probly run 6 or 8 of them, but for 15 bucks more its almost worth it to go dimmable

I'd go with the dimmable, much better for acclimation as well as mood lighting. Then in the future for upgrading to a larger or more advanced setup using a controller or ???
Rapid also sells a 2-color dimming unit that may also work for you.

Cheers, Todd
