only thing i knew is they turn on and off the power head,,but if you line up the power head properly they can make some really flow and wave.,should be instruction of setting manual.

Have you looked at the Chauvet 4002 on ebay? They usually run for about 30 dollars.
They do the same thing. Its either a 4002 or 402. Look up on Ebay and compare the two. If I were doing a small tank with powerheads. I would most likely use one of those.
