Hi listers- I have a 270 gallon acrylic display setup that I obtained slightly 'used' almost 3 years ago. I have been learning & acquiring new equipment, fish, coral as I go. The tank came with 2 Tunze 6100 pumps and a Tunze multicontroller 7095 (4 channels). I added 2 of the Tunze 6105 controllable powerheads last year. Lots of flow!
Last night there was an alarm coming from the area of the aquarium. It was not consistent so it took a couple of hours to 'track it down'.

Picture 1 is the other 6100 pump on the back of the tank, other side.

Picture 2 is a tank shot.

Picture 3 is the offending piece of equipment (no bubble algae comments, please!). the alarm came from the blue box, the Tunze driver 7240.27 as did a 'bad electrical burning' smell.

The pump was NOT working when it was supposed to be (when that channel was on, the other pump on the same channel works fine, still), the alarm was on sometimes when the broken pump was supposed to be running, but not all of the time.

Anybody fix these or know who can fix these...or is toast?

(I'm betting burtn toast...)

If you are a member on Reef Central, it would be easy to post all this info in the Tunze there. Rodger is usually pretty fast on problem solving with Tunze products.

Roger has excellent customer service and response to Tunze problems. He will make things right for you one way or another.

I am having a bit of a problem with a powerhead. Pleas look at this threat/post in the equipment forum. Thanks!

I was told in the equipment forum to go look at:
Reef Central Online Community > Sponsor Forums > Tunze How to clean a Tunze pump and what to do about a driver alarm:
How to clean a Tunze pump and what to do about a driver alarm. - Reef Central Online Community

Instructions & Pictures on what to do & everything. I have been doing a better job of keeping my Ca & Alk up, hence more precipitation in the powerhead where it gets warm from the impeller spinning....whoda thunk!

Did what was suggested & the powerhead is functioning normally once again. No alarms (1 hour)...we shall see but looks like a great direct from you all & fabulous instructions on line (what the internet is all about)!

Thanks so much!
