plan to get a tunze 6000 for my 55g (48x12x18) with the possibility of other maxijets and was wondering if i can get away with a fine sand (.5mm-1.5mm) bed in it without getting sandstorms. if not, is there anything large enough that it won't get blown around like crush coral perhasp?

I use to blow around sand in my 90 gal before going bb with (2) Seio's (820 gph each) I had to adjust them in a way so as to not create a sandstorm and by doing that, I didn't have good flow placement for my LR. So I had to remove my sandbed in order to point my flow where I wanted it. Now I run (2) Tunzes in my 75gal and I know for sure if I had sand in there, it wouldn't be in there for long(LOL) I guess it is all about placement, but most of the time, you have to sacrifice good flow, just so that you don't create a sand storm. That is just my personal experience and opinion...Hope it helps you some:)
