on the back of my bonsi at the base and moved up one branch it has turned white. Not white like it lost the skin just white. I am scared it will spread to the rest of the one. I never noticed it because it faces the back of the tank.

any ideas?

Sorry cant get a clear picture of it

I've had this happen a few times to random sps. Its generally because my parameters had to large of a swing. I had my temp rise 4 degrees one time and to large of an alk swing. The only thing that healed them was consitent water parameters and time. I haven't lost one from this but its very possible to do. Just keep your eye on it. Maybe someone has a better suggestion. The one thing i wouldn't do is try and dip it.

Hello,
As we spoke yesterday I would make sure it is receiving light from all sides and keep an eye on it. Average time to return to its original color is 7-14 days. It should stop losing color immediately if it is from lighting. If it continues to lose color make sure it has plenty of flow and alkalinity is in the proper range (8-9 dKH).

Regards,
Kevin

Ive heard of it happening from varying ph's in the aquarium. ussually on larger sps. because of varying flow, portions of the coral being in one ph while the other portion in another ph.
