I got a large bottle from your store the other day and am on my second dose or day 5, will dose again tomorrow. I was wondering if you know how long it takes befor seeing any results??????? I have hair algae and Bryopsis I'm trying to get rid of. And will it kill my chateo?

It usually takes 2-3 weeks before you see it start to work. Then it happens fast. We also reduce the lighting period to 5 hours per day during treatment. It will not harm you chaeto.

Hope you have better results than me! I went through a whole bottle and only did 4 hrs a day lighting. No effect what so ever!!

Let us know how it works for you. We have had success with it eliminating Dinoflagellates every time, though we had to increase the dose in one case. We haven't tried it on other algae types. I have read on other forums of folks who it didn't work for. We need as much feedback as possible:)

This stuff didn't work. Now that I did a water change and put GFO and Carbon back on line and have started to increase my light cycle , 14" purple monti has died off to about 1/5 its size and continuing. My Hydonphora is dieng of and I have had it for a couple years now. All acros are dark in color. Green monti with purple rim has a brown rim now. All Hair algae and bryopsis is still going strong. I have been plucking it and pulling rocks out to scrub them,( works better). Not very happy that my tank is a mess now and I was recommended to use this by one of your employees that it would kill Hair and bryopsis. All it did was kill diatoms, but that could have been short light cycle too. I not happy I spent close to $60 for this stuff and now my tank is in trouble. I fallowed all the instructions on there web site and now am paying for it in dead corals. Don't sell this stuff any more ....PLEASE.

We appreciate the feedback and I'm sorry it didn't work for you. It's still working on Dinoflagellates for us. Ill pass your experience on to the staff so they know its not working on other types of algae. I would expect that the colors will come back as the photoperiod increases. Have you tried using Kent Tech M magnesium to kill the bryopsis yet? Many have been successful boosting the Mag using this specific product and having it kill bryopsis. Personally, I just take out the affected rocks and wire brush them. Once I've started over, in a sense, with an algae free slate, I make sure my nutrients are kept low and add a bunch of snails, emerald crabs, and herbivorous grazers. Hope you win the battle!

After speaking with the staff, they are telling me that our customers have reported excellent results with it killing bubble algae, and that a few folks reported success with bryopsis. I guess the product is gonna be hit or miss and we'll have to describe it that way if folks want to try it.

I tried the stuff from API Marine Algaefix. It didn't work, accelerated my red cyano, which it said it would kill but it didn't. It also about killed my leathers, they shriveled right up but they did recover but that took two months.
