Anyone know where I might be able to obtain a Uni-Seal locally. I've looked around the Renton area some.

I'm thinking of turning my ASM G1-x into a Recirc.

Here's what one looks like.

Thanks in advance.

I need a 1". If you have one that would be great. If you're going to the frag swap I could just get from you then.

Darn, all I have is 1-1/2 and 3/4. But you could make your own. Have you ever done it? Just get from Lowes, HD etc. a female 1" adapter, a male 1" adapter, and the appropriate O-ring.

Check it out HERE.

Not sure that would work for the recirc mod on a skimmer. I'll book mark that for the future thouhg.

This is what I'm trying to do.

Is it in-sump or external? If the skimmer is in-sump, you could slightly heat the insert area and flatten it a bit. Then install the DIY BH. You could get a Uni-Seal within a few days from SAVKO too. He could just send it via mail so it wouldn't be too expensive. Or you could use a regular BH.

If the skimmer is external, I would caution against the Uni-Seal. With the pump vibration the seal will wear over time. I know a lot of people do it. Just my opinion.

James,
I can look locally here if you like. Koi Joy has them here in Kennewick.
Let me know.

It's internal in sump.

Sure Ed if you don't mind. I don't want you to go out of your way for it though.

If not I might just have to order one from the internet.

James,
I am pretty sure they are in stock and available. I will call them on Monday and get back to you on here.

James,
Koi Joy is closed today. I checked. I was told to go to www.pondshop.com That is Koi Joy for prices. I get a discount so it will be a little cheaper.
I may have one myself. I had some work done on my reactor recently and went with brand new uni seals. I am not sure if the one that is used is one inch but you can have it.
Either way, Koi Joy will be open tomorrow.

Ed,

Thanks for the Uni-seal you gave me at the meeting, but it's the wrong size. I wasn't paying attention and complete forgot i need a 1" seal. So if you don't mind looking at your local place there it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not in a hurry so take your time.

Thanks

P.s. How's the RO filter?

No problem,it will be a pleasure. :) I have not tried RO filter yet, thanks for Deal. I thinkk I am RO/DI happy now. I have three. Jeep still has stuff in it. I removed sump and Tanks, and corals. But I still need to empty it.

if your still looking for uni-seals, I have quite a few 1" on hand. ( also 1 1/4, 1 1/2 and 2")

If you want to get them on-line Aquatic Ecosystems is the best place I have found for the actual uni-seal brand name.

Ferguson Plumbing also carries another brad of uni-seals, they are identical to uni-seals but are made of a harder rubber. They are a little more difficult to install but work just like uni-seals ( just ask Big-T how much fun the 2" ones are  )

Hey Brian that would be great. How much do you want for one? I've found them online but have a hard time paying the $5-$10 for shipping for a $2 part.
