Bought at my LFS and they had it listed as the all so rare Anemone Leather :), need help with the proper ID.

Thanks

i am not so sure now that i see a pic of it...it looks like a leather, but not so much a figi leather..

"Bleached" meaning not so healthy. I don't think I'd go back to that specific LFS except maybe to return your coral and give them a lecture about unethical selling practices...lol. Or they possibly didn't know what they were selling, in which case, I'd edit the lecture to one about being in business without knowing what the heck they're doing...lol. I sure hope you didn't pay much for it. If so, you got taken...unfortunately. If you paid anything over about $35.00, you paid too much...and that's the price for a good sized HEALTHY Fiji leather.

Given the right water conditions and lighting, chances are your leather will recover.

Thanks, it was $30, I have had good success in rehab with a bleached RBT (from different LFS) for the last year, so I am going to try and save the leather. There is not alot of places to buy stuff here where I live, :-(

that's what i was thinking...the edges and shape just don't resemble a figi leather

My guess would be a lobophytum sp., sometimes called a fat finger leather. With those, yellow is an okay color too!

this is kind of strange looking, but i found an old pic of my figi leather when i first dropped it in my tank..it is similar to yours, although i still think yours is some sort of finger leather or devils hand

I think that you are right, my main concern at this point is to get it the proper lighting and water conditions to get back to where it should be.
