UV sterilizer refugium ?'s

I was going to use one pump to pump from my UV sterilizer to my refugium and then back out into my sump. Is there any reason why this wouldnt work, like messing up my PH balance ruining the effectivenes of the UV or the refugium etc. I was just trying to run one less pump.
BTW I have a 15 gallon refugium 55 gal sump and a pump that pumps aprox. 450 gph.

My setup was just like that if I understand you correctly. I had a pump in the sump that supplied water to the UV. From there the water went into the fuge. There was a pipe between the fuge and sump for water to get back into the sump. Worked great.
