VERY ODD QUESTION about fuge allege

So i was reading about the allege you put in the fuge and i am a noob so i need to be careful well the article said some thing about using ogonori (ogo)which is part of the gracilaria family it said it just take a lot of light to make it work.

now to the odd part!!! I really like sushi and the is a dish called poke that i like to make and it takes ogo. so do you think it would be ok to use this in my fuge and then farm it out and eat with my food??? secondly I can buy it a uwajima ( NOT SPELLED RIGHT) but it is a asian grocery store in the seattle/renton area. would it be ok to buy it there and put in the fuge to get it going?


so has anyone used this stuff before? and does it work well? first the tank then my stomach if it is a bad idea to use.

I would be very nervous about eating anything out of your aquarium. Most if not all salts and additives we use state not fit for use with human consumption. Just not worth the risk IMO.

+1. And what about the cleanliness of the water. We might clean our water the best we can with our filtering, but there is nothing that can beat the filtering abilities of mother nature. Shes been doing it for millions of years.

If you can buy live seaweed why not. Worth a try.

Just be sure there are no hitchhickers on it. Not likely to be a probelem though it its ment to be eaten.

Might also want to ask what temp the seaweed is kept at. May or may not do well in a tropeical tank. Just a thought.
