vho t12 end caps

i recently purchased purchased an icecap 660 with 4 t12 vho bulbs and end caps. When i plug it in it turns on then shuts off right away i read that this is caused by one of the bulbs not having a good connection in the end cap. When i take the bulbs out i have no idea if they are in correctly or not cause i cant see in the cap is there a good trick to putting these things in to ensure a good connection?
