Vinegar bath

Hey Skimmy, just had a real quick question for you.

I've got a SWC 160 cone coming in tomorrow can you give me a quick run down on the best way to give it a vinegar bath to help it get broken in?

I assume fill a bathtub a bit with warm water toss some vinegar in and let it run. Any ratio I need? How long should I let it run?

I usually use a small tank like a 10 or 15 gallon or even a thermos pop/food cooler to do the vinegar bath. Right now I'm doing the same with a new hang-on skimmer on a 3 gallon bucket.
Just a guess, but I'd do atleast 50/50 freshwater to vinegar.

I'm curious if anyone thinks a shorter duration ( shorter than 12 hours) would be as effective.
And less vinegar.
