Does anyone use this product for surge currents?How long does it working for?Do the mechanics stuck due to algae,debris,or calcium deposites?

I was originally going to go with a wave2K, but went with a sea swirl and have been ecstatic.

tasos - I'm not familiar with using the Wave 2K, but did a search, and found mixed reviews on it. Some folks didn't care for it, and opted for the Tunze wavebox, and others said it was great:
