Andrew and I went out today to grab a few things for the tanks and ended up catching a nurse shark for my old 75gal. Here are some photos of it as well as some of Andrew holding it. He was found in about 2 feet of water (if that) resting and Andrew just grabbed him with his hands

Does a shark like that get really pissed when you catch em'?

you got to get pics...

I will...He had to remove all the clowns etc from the tank before he put the shark in. I haven't seen the tank since I sold it and want to so I will carry my camera down later if I can and get some pics:)

LOL! That shot in the bucket isn't a 5gal bucket. That's a 2.5 gal one I carry around. When we filled the 5gal bucket and put him in there and Andrew went to grab him for the picture, he jumped out of the bucket onto the floor! They are relatively calm sharks though which is cool:)

Thats very cool Krish however you may need a way larger tank than a 75 to house this guy. I think you may have your work cut out for you keeping him healthy...

Good Luck!

kewl dood :) but i think Andrew is nuts for grabbing him with his hands :p.

i think Brenden is trying to tell you that he wants the shark!!!!LOL

lol yeah dood i can see his eyes getting all wide and thinking how to tell Melissa, he wants one :p :D.
Well dood Krish just reminded me about the liquid law for the airplanes, so may be if you go there Brian, you can bring your 5 gal bucket with the shark and say it's full of breast milk and just use calcium to white the water

I agree with Matts125. Although it is really really cool, I'm concerned about how quickly the nurse shark will outgrow the 75g, and also concerned for its health in a small set-up. Keep us posted!

Thanks guys! The shark is not mine...It's Andrew's. Not sure what his long term plans are for it yet, but I think he just wants it in the tank for the customers to see for now. I guess when it grows a bit more, he may sell it to Atlantis or something. In any event, he's a cool looking shark and I'm sure before the shark becomes a problem in that tank, Andrew would have gotten rid of it:)

I took my little one for a car ride today, and decided to pass by Papa John's to see if I could see the shark from the parking lot and sure enough he's swimming in there. I wish I took the camera, but I didn't plan on going there. The shark is smaller than I thought! He's got tons of room in there now and I estimate him to be about 10-12 inches:)

you took her out and didn't get her any pizza .... what kind of dad are you :p :D...... 10-12 is quite big for me

Or you can just enjoy the shark for a few months or so, and then release it back where you caught it....:D

Mike is right on with that. They have the advantage of being able to do that. people in the state will buy these guys and then have no way to get them anywhere. they get really big.
