I found a small...something...in my tank today, it looks like a shrimp but it is very tiny? I have two cleaner shrimp. l uploaded a photo to my gallery. Can anyone identify it? Is it good or bad??
Thanks!

Looks like you got pods. Not usually a bad thing. I think there are two kinds that are huge and suck the blood from fish. That looks like the normal good kind that is in every happy and operational tank. HTH. STEVE

That is an amphipod and it is a detritus eater. They will help keep your tank clean. These are the little guys that fish like Mandarins eat. These are signs of a healthy tank.

I'll echo the comments posted. Thought I'd toss the pic onto the thread for reference:

Thank you all for the fast replies. I will toss the little guy back in the tank. There are probably more in there that I have not seen.

Usually where there is one there are many. :)

NaH20, I must say you've got good eyes. That is a birds eye view of an amphipod. I've got all kinds of that good stuff swimming in my sump but until I put on the old cheaters it just looks like moving stuff. I was at Aquatic Dreams last Saturday and I asked him what those where. You are right. He was very helpfull. Like everyone else that has been into his shop and raved, I agree, he has some very nice frags, the nicest I've seen.
