I just installed a pH probe in my calcium reactor. I am using ARM media. What would be the optimum value I should keep the reactor pH at for proper dissolution of the media? Before I installed the probe it seems as though either it was not dissolving the media enough and if I turned up my Co2, it would just turn the media to mush.

7.0 is a good starting ph level with arm. With arm in some reactors going down to 6.7 will turn the media to mush.

Thanks guys, I realized my pH probe was a little out of calibration also. I have been calibrating it with 7.0 & 10.0 buffer solutions. I guess for it to be more accurate, since I am monitoring a pH of aprox 6.7, I will need to use 4.0 & 7.0 buffers with this probe instead of the 7.0 & 10.0 buffers?

Generally, I calibrate with the 4.0 and the 10.0 solutions as they are the farthest reaches I'm using my pH probe for....
