So, a co worker and I are looking at our 40gal tank...and then all of sudden here comes creepin on the rock..this think that looks...

like a centipede or catipillar...

It was more flat like a centipede..it was red..body...with white fuzzy tuffs where you would think legs on a centipede is.

It was fast too! Went into a hole in the rock, didnt see it this morning..but..what is it?
I know I didnt put it in there..intentionally anyhow! lol
If I can get a pic of it when its out..I will..but anyone have any idea what I am talking about? And I want to know if its good :) or naughty..

THanks!
misty

Oh and it was about..2.5-3" long

The vast majority of bristleworms are harmless scavengers. Actually a good thing because they will help clean up dead or decaying matter, left over food, etc. Here are a couple of articles for you:

Polychaete Annelid Identification, or "You can always tell a bristleworm...."

A Large Worm Turns

YUP!!! That is what it is!! I have seen LITTLE BRISTLE worms..the prickly ones..but this one..was kinda cool. :)

He lives in a hole that goes into a piece of live rock..and the hole is enter only..there is not an exit..so thats his home I think. As long as he is ok in there..he can stay..

:)

The second link...is EXACTLY what it is. Color and all!
