I am trying to find a way that I can use chemical filtration i.e. polyfilters, carbon, etc. I don't have space in my sump to put baffles so that the water is forced through the media. I have heard a lot about power filters and H.O.T. canister filters, but I don't have expierence with either of them. I am experience with floor canister filters and would not like to go that route again.

Thanks.

I've had a H.O.T magnum and it is pretty convienient. It simply
hangs on the tank at the back (Hang On Tank) and you can
use it either with filter media or a polishing cartridge in it.
They are very cheap in price and produce I think about 250
gph of flow. Another thing you can maybe do is throw carbon
in a media bag and rest it in your sump or you can buy media
containers (like a phosban media container) and hang it on you
sump like I did. Here is a picture of how I have my phosban reactor.
