I've noticed these for a while and have never known what hey are.

There are these small mounds of sand with these looooonnnggg tenticles coming out grabbing things and pulling stuff into it. I have no idea what they are but i started with only one of them and now I have 5 that I can see.

First of all, are they harmful? and second, howdo I get rid of them? I'm afraid they may get out of control if I dont get rid of them now.

I can take a picture if that would help to id it.

thanks
Brandon

Sounds a lot like a spaghetti worm.

Do a quick google search for spaghetti worm and see if the pictures you find are close to what you have.

If it is they are good guys. To get them under control stop overfeeding the tank.

Yes they are good, they are scavengers. They eat extra food and stuff that makes it to the bottom of the tank. People will pay $5 or so for them to charge their sand beds....
