Legs are about 1/2'' long and slim from the top to the base and the base being the size of a toothpick. They are coming out of small cracks in the rock. I have counted 4 or 5 0f them in a 3'' diam. not all coming from the same rock.

Another site said Peanut Worm, Harl.Serpant Starfish, Some type of snail. I googled the PW and the HSstar and dont think that is it Because it is coming out of separate rocks.
Anybody have an idea?

looks like mini brittle or serpent stars sticking there arms out looking for food. Great part of your clean-up crew.

Yeah, the bands on the one to left made me think brittle star right away as well. My rocks have little starfish arms sticking out all over the place.

Yea, they can be pretty active at night. I have seen them move pretty quick in and out of a rock if piece of shrimp lands close enough to one as well.

They move a lot, and are great not only as a cleaner, but also as food for many shrimp and fish. They can easily lose a few legs and go on living. Don't think I've ever seen a coral eat them, but it's very possible. I recently saw one of my acan lords munching on a stomotella snail, and The BGM I got had a reputation for eating a bristleworm.
