Found this little guy when I was rearranging a few things in my 20L frag / prop tank. Took it out and got a video clip on my Facebook page if anyone cares to check it out. Look for Alex B Hatt on there and you should be able to watch the video.

It looks similar to a aiptasia or glass anemone but when it swims (yes it does swim) it swims similar to a jellyfish or a squid. Propulsion. :D

Cheers,
Alex

Can you snap a picture from the side? Does it have a foot like an anemone?

It doesn't have a foot like an anemone but more like a propulsion or mouth area. I have a marine biologist who is looking at the photo and video too. See what he thinks. I talked to him today about this little creature.

It is very cool to watch too. Kind got a really big W-O-W from me too when I first saw it take off in the glass bowl.

Okay so I guess I have about three of these little things. I just grabbed the rock out where I found the first one and there are two more there. And when I put the rock into a cup, they started to swim around a little. *lol*

Crazy!!!

Hey i found some of those last weekend on a clam that i had, I removed the clam from the tank to get them off and I noticed them swimming in the container when I'd blow them off of the clam shell. I found like 4 or 5 of them in the container when i was done cleaning the clam.

Here are a few more photos of the two others that I found on the same rock. Very cool little creatures. I found that they do react to objects such as tweezers. Kind of like a very curious kid, they had to touch it. *lol* I didn't even put the tweezers all that close and the one had to move closer.

For now they are going to reside in a 3 gallon tank, until further notice. *lol*

Cheers,
Alex

Wow! Actually that sounds dangerously parasitic!

Yep I think if you go to the chuck's addiction page you can find this guy there and read about him.
