What is this?

This worm just showed up in my long-established fish-only tank. I've had the live-rock for more than 4 years. Is this a good worm or a bad worm?

I have these worms too. I'll bet its been there all along but is just out for a stroll. I think they are good but I'd love to know the name of them - I don't think they are bristle worms.

Looks like a bristle worm to me. I have one in my tank that is about 10 inches atm along with a couple half its size. Definitely a good scavenger for you tank. Just be cautious to not grab it by mistake with your bare hands, they can inflict some pain.

Pic is kinda small for me to be absolute, but it does look like a bristle worm to me.

Definitely a common Bristle worm. Great part of a natural clean up crew. Great for your tank, BAD for you, don't touch it.

Ya! the bristles are a bit itchy stingy! small bristle worms really suck cause their bristles can be finer than hair.
