I recently bought a 100 gallon all acrlic tank. It came with the life guard filter system (mech, chem and heater pod) a UV ster and a Little Giant 4-md-sc pump. All of which I picked up for $125.The only thing I am missing is the skimmer. Is there a skimmer that can be used on a closed loop system like this or do I have to go with a hang on. I am going to be housing live rock and aggressive fish in the tank. any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
David

I'm familiar with the name Life guard, but not sure which exact system you have. Any links I can check out to see how yours is set up? May make it a little easier to give some suggestions..

yea here is a link, they are a little older but do the same exact thing,

I am going to line the system up so it goes little giant pump, mech mod, chem mod then heater mod. Then I am going to split the line part goes straight to return with a control valve other part goes to uv with control valve. The UV will t back into the return line for return to the tank. I am thinking of a seperate closed loop with a diy skimmer and a mag 12 pump.
