what to do with chaeto

I purchased a baggie full of chaeto from a guy on line 4 days ago.My 110 was supposed to be ready by then but things came up.I have a 55gal. with just a few damsels and a tang in it.can I let the chaeto float in the tank until I get my 110 ready.It only has a penguin filter on the back of it

Hey may nibble on it, but cheato grows so fast i would not worry about it to much..

Your tang is probably acting like a kid in a candy shop. Chaeto is always growing or replacable but a happy tang is priceless.
