Do you guys think that is enough flow? any input appreciated.

you could drill a closed loop. I would do a k 3 on the center back. you going with the mr aqua one? Ill let you know how mine is its on the way but the 12x12x12

depending on your return i would think thats is enought may want to add another koralia in there I like my tanks heavy flow my 240 has a dart for a closed loop 3 x 6100 tunzes and 2 x mj 1200 modded then the return of 1500 gph it is a iwaka 70rlt and i still thing thats not enough plan on adding a 6200 to the mix.

29 has return of 900 gph and k3 and a zoo med sweeper Ph for flow. what do you plan on keeping in there.

See that would be a good idea, but I just really dont like the idea of drilling into my tank. haha. But yeah I'm getting the Mr. Aqua one. Did you happen to order yours from Marinedepot today?

I think over time as I acquire more equipment, I'll probably add another mj1200 to the tank to catch any dead spots. I think I said I'd keep 2 clowns, a shrimp, and sps

Mine will be here tomorrow and I'm drilling the drain at least. Not quite sure if i want to keep the clean look and drill the return or use the sea swirl on top for better flow direction..

So you're going for functionality. I figured if Ii dish more money for a clean looking tank, I'm going to try to keep it super clean looking :)

whats your setup like for your cube?

Well im going to paint the back. And drill for a 3/4 inch strainer for the drain so it dosent take tank space. Then like i said i might drill the return depending on how ugly the sea swirl box looks on the cube. I have a 22x10x16 sump for the tank and am going to hang my eshopps 100h on the back of it below. Going to run all my filtration and heater below also. I have a rio 2100 for the return which we'll see how much ill have to ball valve it. That will be my only flow since the tank is only 7.5 gallons. Then im going to suspend my 150 metal halide from the ceiling over it along with 2 ice cap power bright leds attached to the halide. Im still looking for a smaller reflector so right now the light is going to be a little big for the tank.

This will be an all zoanthid tank. Besides maybe a few lps. Also i dont know wether i want to do sand or bb yet. If i do sand ill have one sand sifting goby mayyybe do a goby shrimp pair.

Dang, MH for a zoo tank, props to ya! But definitely post some pics as soon as you get things set up and I'll try to do the same. I cant wait for cycling to be over.. the dread of cyclingggg :(

I feel it. yaa but with the suspension of the light i can adjust it to fit the corals needs. Plus its such a small water volume a buddy on here is gonna hook me up with water from his 125. So im pretty stoked about not having to wait much. Since my skimmer is way over rated for a total water volume of 20 gallons i don't think the cycle would be bad anyways.

If it were me, I'd drill the tank so that you could use a sump and or external fuge. I'd also probably go with something other than the Remora. I used one for a while and it dis 'ok' with the maxi jet pump, but there seem to be some really nice skimmers out there in the same price range that would do better. For flow, how about an MP10? That would give some nice varied flow all over the tank.

Iroll: doesnt cycling have to do with the live rock and sand that you have rather than the water? In fact, I'm actually thinking about going and waiting the 2 weeks that it takes for marine depot to restock the 7.5g and doing that instead of getting a giant cube and having my parents take care of it during the weekdays and me taking care of it during the weekends.

Chichas: I usually dont drill my tank, I know everyone really likes to but IMO the only beniefit that it gives it better flow but if I mess up the drilling, I'd be dumping a good tank down the drain. Isnt the MP10 the super pricey powerhead with a controller to generate wave motions?

The tank came in the mail cracked today. What pisses me off even more is there out of 12x12x12 cubes to i had to pay 17$ more for a 18X11x11 and have to wait till monday to get it. I don't think it would look like **** with a closed loop. The point would be to hide the plumbing with a black back. Im just drilling for a sump on mine no loop at all.

oh dang, that sucks... that scares me now as to having a tank shipped =/ but yeah I emailed them and they said...

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Marine Depot. The Mr Aqua Tank is currently out of
stock, and should be in within the next 1-2 weeks. I apologize for any
inconvenience.

so... 1-2 weeks is how long i'll wait.. haha in the meantime, I'll start cycling in my 10g and then just do a straight transfer once the tank arrives in like 3 weeks or so!

Its not a big deal i'm over it lol Plus the 12x12x12 i bought was only 35$ I just hate waiting.

yeah thats the worst i was pissed when i called to tell them that the tank came broken then for them to tell me to either wait or spend more money to get a different tank. Plus i don't really have a choice with the set up i have now its annoying.
