Yesterday i purchased myself a beautiful scotts fairy wrasse. Got it home acclimated it for like 3 hours to make sure it was good and ready. Carefully dumped his bag into a 5 gallon bucket to allow me to net him gently. This is were it went to crap. As i was taking him to the top of the tank some how it flopped and jumped out of my net and took a 4 foot dive to the carpet. I was like oh man. picked him up and got it into the tank. Looked like it hurt itself but i was hoping for the best. Today when i got home from work i was looking thru my tank for the new tank mates and how they were doing. Then with a great sigh i saw the poor thing on the corner of a rock with a snail enjoying what was left of him. Learned a good lesson with this to not keep the net uncovered with wrasses of this type. The tang i got at the same time is doing great tho.

sorry to hear your loss..but good to hear lesson learned. :)

most fairy wrasses (scotts included) and sand sifting gobies are jumpers..most of the deaths to these groups of fish occuring because of jumping.
