I bought a used 125G acrylic tank last week. It has many minor scratches and i MAJOR scratch (dead center). I can probably buff them out myself but if someone in the area is well versed in doing this, I'd gladly pay to have it done correctly.

Tanks alot -

I would get some micromesh and do it myself. of course I have not seen how bad it is though.:doubt:

I believe I've read that IAP over in Poulsbo will restore tanks w/scratches. They have a forum in the sponsors section, so you could ask there or just give them a call.

Well, this is an IAP tank, oddly enough...

But the wife and I decided that we could tackle this.

We got 1500 grit and 2000 grit wet/dry sand paper, buffing compound, and new bonnets for the buffer and went to town. My wife was even working on it while I was away at work (she wants the tank in the house ASAP).

We did the first portion at night under halogen work lights and it looked pretty good. But in the light of the morning it looked awesome! We should have all of the buffing done this evening. Then it will be time to clean it out woth RO and vinager (or so I've heard).

My only regret is that I didn't take any decent before photos to post with the after photos.

Thanks for the input.

Don
