Well, I cemented a hammer coral to a rock and i had to remove it, but in doing so, I accidentally pushed it into the sand (hard) and it ripped of some of the tips of the tenticles. Is this any reason to be alarmed? What will happen?

Hammers are usually pretty tough. I had one whose head got crushed by a rock and half of the flesh was hanging. I thought for sure it would die, but it slowly stretched the broken skeleton and torn flesh until it fell off, and the remainder of the polyp started healing and growing again. Keep it in medium low flow, just enough to move it without tearing it more.

Hello Admiral,
+1 that most corals like this are pretty tough and can handle a lot of damage.
On the open reef when a storm comes through it can get pretty devastating with all the rock and debris flying around. Kinda like a hurricane under water.
Corals will recover physical damage in a fairly short time.
Could you post a picture of the coral for inspection?
