My husband, my dad and myself spent the last week salmon fishing. We brought home almost 100 lbs of fish and probably released 3 times that amount. Mostly pinks but also some hatchery coho. Weather was great, t-shirt weather on the boat and calm, flat water. The fish were biting fast and furious, many times we were not able to get all three lines out before "fish on!". A couple of times we had 3 fish on at once! On the second day we limited out in less than 2 hours (12 fish in the boat).

The most memorable one for me was thursday (my birthday), in the morning I was unable to get a fish up to the boat (my husband and dad were doing great). I told them I was "waiting for the big one". When we went out that afternoon I hooked a 35-40lb Chinook. He immeadiately stripped out almost all my line. We chased the fish with the boat and were able to get it up to the boat after a 45 minute fight. I was using very light gear running only a 2oz weight and the leader on a very light pole so this was an exciting and fun battle to get this fish up. As Chinook is closed in Sekiu, we snapped a few pictures (the pictures do not do the fish justice) and succesfully released the fish and watched it swim back down. It was so awesome!
